Riverrun Gallery will present the work of two notable Philadelphia artists this July.
KAREN C. FOGARTY will be showing a combination of charcoal drawings and oil paintings. A recipient of the 2003 Leeway Grant, Ms. Fogarty and her work were chosen as a recent subject of a John Thornton Art Review film.
Edward Sozanski, art critic for The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote in a past review:
"Fogarty imparts exceptional presence to familiar subject matter..... Using strong outline, prominent shadows and soft, understated coloring she transforms the mundane into the memorable."
GEORGANNA LENSSEN will present her recent oil paintings. Ms. Lenssen was the 2003 recipient of the Elizabeth Arrasmith Scholarship at the Pennsylvania Academy of Art. Her work has been described as having "...a pulsation life, where color and form combine to create an other-worldly effect." She brings a whimsical twist to her subject that is genuinely heart-felt by both artist and viewer.
Both artists are members of the faculty of the Wayne Art Center, Wayne, Pennsylvania.
The show will run from July 8 thru July 31 with two opportunities to meet the artists. An opening reception will be held July 10, from 6:30 till 9:00 pm and a meet and greet reception on Saturday July 18 from 2::00 til 5:00 pm. |
